let me take you though a little guided tour...

This is what you see when you open the door. The bookshelf I got from a guy on Craigslist, and the bike is a 1983 Free Spirit that I got from my mom. When I got the bike it was in a very sad condition, and I can proudly say I worked on it myself. It still needs a lot of work, but its great for short trips in downtown. I also have another (actual) road bike that I am working on, but have no idea where I am going to keep it. (and yes I do need it, since it will be 1000x better for long distance trips) Side note, I love my bright pink helmet.

If you do a little turn you can see my "Living room". I use "" because in reality, I technically only have two rooms, bathroom and main room. Ah, the love of studio living.

Turn a little more to the right and this is where the magic happens....well sort of. The imac is my life. That grey thing in front of my keyboard is a Wacom tablet, and I recommend it for anyone that designs. It is an extension of my hand. The desk is a thrift store find ($10) that I painted barn house red. The file cabinet was a donation from my dads work and keeps me semi-organized.
I consider walls around my desk fair game. It will be the only spot in my apartment that I clutter with work, inspiration, jewelry, photos, calendars, and anything else that I can tack on. I also put everything I am working on freelance wise on one clipboard and hang it up to remind me to work. Oh and that wall filled with jewelry? I got the idea from living in a tiny room with my sister and not having a place to keep my jewelry. I just use tacks and put them in a semi-straight line. (just be prepared to lose feeling in your fingers shortly after)
The chair was a Christmas gift from my dad about 3 years ago. It is covered in black duck tape (the ex from hell broke it), but I cant seem to get rid of it.

On the other side of my large 6x6 bookshelf is my bed. I painted the side of my bookshelf to match my "kitchen" wall, and adds a bit of color with the red pillows/sheets. The walls are my favorite part of my apartment. They came painted this dark blue color (eh...ok, very gender neutral), but I added a light gray IKEA cherry blossom wall stickers. Because of my neurotic designer brain it took me about 4 hours to do.

The light that is hanging over my bed used to be in the center of my "living room" before I moved all of my furniture around. Now its off center, but I kinda like it that way. Or I just don't want to move it....cant decide.
The red sheets are from IKEA and I got the brown pillows and comforter from a co-worker. The striped pillows I stole from my sister. The little side table holding the vases I got from IKEA and stained myself. The bed frame I got off of Craigslist for $40.

Just because I love my bed so much you get to see another picture of it. I used to buy fresh flowers every week for the vases, but due to lack of funds I am temporarily using nice fake flowers that I bought on mark-down for 23 cents.

Shot from my bed. The white rug was a gift from my dad, and even though I don't have a vacuum I've found that a broom works just as well. Good workout. The couch I picked up from a girl off of Craigslist for $75 and covered it with brown fabric. The couch might seem large for the space, but I really needed something my friends can crash on. One friend was staying over every week for three months or so. I'm a diagonal sleeper, so sharing a bed is out of the question. :)

Since I am cheap, my TV only has free basic cable, but is hooked up to a DVD player, PS2, and Game Cube. I also have my wireless Internet router in the far right square. The shelf that is holding my TV is actually a IKEA LACK bookcase that bought in the as is section($35), painted black and flipped on its side. The side table is from IKEA ($15) and I painted the top to match my kitchen wall as well.

So I normally don't spend so much on a plate ($6), but I saw this in IKEA and
fell in love.

See how I have just a "kitchen" wall. I really don't cook that much (unless you count the microwave), and I would rather have more space to live in.

Blue! (oh and I really don't like the electric stove. I already burn things, I don't need any more help.)

Shot from the entrance of my bathroom. I'm on the 12th floor, so I get a lot of light during the day. Not much of a view, but cheaper...and I get to look into other peoples windows when I'm bored.

Last but not least, the bathroom. I love the large circular frame from IKEA. I put a piece of white and brown fabric in it. The little frames I also bought from IKEA and painted black.
So that's it. A little look into my humble but expensive apartment. Its still a big work in progress, but its at least presentable. Oh and no one is seeing my walk-in-closet. It is a mess. :)
